 On August 1, 2009 there were 185 runners on the start of I Maraton Karkonoski (Karkonosze Mountain Marathon)
There was a hard competition on the route. On the first distance of 32 km the leader was Marek Swoboda in front of Jacek Lenart, but later due to Marek’s cramps the order was inverse.
The marathon finished 185 runners: 20 women, 165 men.

under 4 hours the marathon was finished by 6 persons;

Maraton Karkonoski was nominated in three categories in the voting for the Golden Run 2009, organized by the portal MaratonyPolskie.PL.
